Ann Demeulemeester is a Belgian brand that has rapidly become one of my absolute favourite labels. The deeper I dive into their history and philosophy, the more I find myself completely captivated and inspired by their work. If you consider yourself a modern vampire living in today’s world, I would absolutely recommend exploring their latest collections to take your wardrobe to a whole new level. With a wide range of collaborations involving artists from various creative fields, this brand truly transcends fashion—it embodies emotion, intelligence, and compelling stories.

Since Stefano Gallici took the helm as Creative Director in 2023, the brand has been flourishing, delivering stunning collections marked by a dark, gothic-inspired, monochromatic aesthetic that feels both fresh and timeless. You can see the unmistakable punk rock and indie influences that Gallici brings to every piece he designs. One notable project by him is KIDS, inspired by the sprawling, enigmatic city of Los Angeles.

As a Canadian who has never set foot in LA, my mind’s image of the city was familiar—palm trees, skaters rocking Vans, influencers everywhere, and the glitz of Hollywood Hills.

But Gallici’s vision unveils a totally different side of LA: a shadowy, emotional, and deeply personal city filled with real people who have names and stories to tell. Mostly shot in stark black and white, the photos capture raw, gritty, and inspiring emotions unlike the typical postcard image of LA.

Featuring select pieces from the AW2025 collection, this is Ann Demeulemeester’s unique take on Los Angeles—a side of the city I never would’ve associated with the brand before, yet it fits perfectly, demonstrating a refreshing, unexpected perspective.

I loved it! Without a doubt, I’m totally a devoted Demeulemeester girl <3

Maison Kitsuné Fall-Winter 2025 Campaign

My thoughts on Maison Kitsuné’s Fall-Winter 2025 Campaign.

Maison Kitsune, a Parisian brand that’s inspired by Japanese fashion, is a brand that has always interested me. Especially due to their logo of Japanese mythical creature, Kitsuné.

Kitsuné lore in general is very interested if you ever look into it.

Imagine falling in love with a nine-tailed one :O (K-drama reference, I’m not insane, trust).

This brand definitely has that minimalism of the mainstream Japanese fashion that’s consists of familiar silhouettes and style , making pretty much every piece quite adaptable to be worn in pretty much any part of the world.

The brand is perfect for someone who is into minimalism but wants the tiniest bit of personality shown (accomplished via the fox logo on everything). This approach gives a clean, sophisticated look with a tiny drop of fun there so the clothes don’t look too plain and won’t make you feel like you have absolutely zero personality. The fox almost feels like an emotional supportive animal telling you “It's okay, my little logo patch is definitely helping you not look plain and boring and like you totally have a unique style”.

Despite lacking uniqueness and any styles that take risks, I can appreciate as a young working person in the big city how their style of clothing is perfect for work and on-the-go. Helps you look clean, put together, and ready for just about most day-to-day situations.

On their website, this collection is described as “Collision of modern French elegance and preppy style” - which I definitely do see, all the clothes are classic Parisian style - timeless, simple, maybe even “old-money-ish if I use that TikTok lingo, with pieces that could go very well with a preppy style with their “crisp shaped” button ups, vest-looking tank tops, skirts, and straight legged trousers.

This collection being mostly full of baby-bluish, white, beige, forest green, and denim looks, make it perfect for the everyday hustle life. Clothes are simple so not too hard to put together - for the most part, every piece of this collection would go with every other piece of this collection.

With my Tiktok feed full of the downtown girl aestehtic, it was nice to see some focus on color that isn’t dark red. Looking at those colours made me feel calm and at peace, although not necessarily being fall/winter colours - which is an approach I appreciate as it makes me feel like I can wear those pieces year-round.
